The objective of this special issue is to address theoretical foundations, design methods, deployed systems and education which can realize the shift from solutions which focus only on cyber or physical aspects independently towards a holistic cyber-physical approach and advance state-of-the-art. The special issue will discuss some significant advances in the science of CPS, as well as in the practice of developing such systems that can help to realize some of the common goals of two or more CPS sectors. The special issue will include current and future research directions in CPS in aerospace, automotive, medical, energy and other sectors such as manufacturing.

IMPORTANT DATES

·         Manuscript submission deadline: February 1, 2011  Extended Deadline: March 30, 2011, 23:59pm PST

·         Reviews sent to authors: April 11, 2011 June 8, 2011

·         Revisions and camera-ready paper due: May 9, 2011 July 6, 2011  

·         Tentative publication date: September 2011 December 2011

If you have not used Manuscript Central in the past, then you will need to set up a new user account. Once you can access your account go to Author Center, and use the link "Click Here to Submit a New Manuscript." Select "Radha Poovendran: Cyber-Physical Systems" from the drop-down menu when prompted to select an issue in Step 5 (Details & Comments) of the 7-step submission process.

Submitted papers must meet the following restrictions: no longer than 12 double column IEEE journal pages, including figures, references and authors biographies; should contain a right balance between tutorial state-of-the-art exposition and research; must be accessible to the broad readership of Proceedings of the IEEE.
