This online version of the print journal of the same name is published by
Academic Press, Inc. through a program titled IDEAL (International Digital
Electronic Access Library). Formerly known as the Journal of Microcomputer
Applications, the Journal has changed its name as it moves to encompass
new areas in the rapidly growing technologies that are dramatically
changing the way we all live and work. The Journal of Network and Computer
Applications covers an exceptionally broad range of topics centering
around modern developments in networked computer systems.
Areas of interest include: new design techniques, interesting or novel applications, components or standards interface issues including special consideration for handicapped persons computer graphics, 3-D modelling and virtual reality multi-and hypermedia including electronic publishing computer networks with tools such as Gopher, WWW, Hyper-G, or WAIS applications of networked and stand-alone multimedia systems to computer assisted presentations applications of an educational, transactional and cooperational nature Some articles appearing in the July 1996 issue of the Journal include: 'Development of a user-friendly software planning tool to assess effects of biofilm activity on contaminant reduction in streams', 'Singular value decomposition on processor arrays with a pipelined bus system', and 'Hardware design of a letter-driven OCR and document processing system'. Subscription to this electronic journal involves licensing agreements with academic and industrial networks or consortia of libraries and can not be done on a personal or even title by title basis. However, the table of contents and article abstracts for each issue are available online free-of-charge. Articles are provided to members of subscriber institutions in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format. |
