The environmental impacts of the manufacturing, use, and disposal of technology and products that use technology are many, varied, and global. Some of these impacts on our natural environment can be readily seen as in the air pollution emanating from smokestacks amidst coal-powered electricity plants. Many more impacts are hidden from our daily eye, but nevertheless have a pervasive and profound impact on the future health of our planet and our civilization.
